Verb Products

When Birds Barbershop launched a new line of haircare products named VERB,  they turned to The Screamer Company to create a website cool enough to play with their already established brand.

WEBSITE

The final design was based on the look of vintage TV test screens, a core inspiration for the VERB brand. The ideas was to fragment the test screen image and recombine it in new and unexpected ways – similar to how VERB was challenging the hair care industry to rethink its long held beliefs surrounding product quality and price.

INSPIRATION

Our presentation included a range of ideas based on everything from classic video games art to Tron. Check them out.

ART CONCEPTS

One of our concepts was based upon the idea of building a story around vintage imagery and linking them to key messages for each VERB Product. The idea of creation and alchemy were key concepts in this option.

This is Planet Verb. The hair was healthy. The product was cheap. The imagery was vague.

Another option was to go monochromatic and geometrical allowing the images to relay the message. Each curious mouse-over would bring a new message or addition to the game-like navigation. .

Of course one option was to build off the already great Birds Barbershop brand, so we looked at vintage stereo equipment and built this concept around tuning into a new way of hair styling. This option came with ideas like making your own mix tapes available online.
