Post-game discussions of favorite commercials are arguably more enthusiastic than those of the final score. Television has long been the king of advertising. Like a :15, :30 or :60 movie, it has the power to entertain, inspire and provoke action. It’s the most expensive tactic to produce, but traditionally it has allowed for creativity with no limits – except for those put forth by the FCC. Television advertising has been a driving force in shaping popular culture through characters, catchphrases and corporate identities. Our world is changing rapidly, as is the face advertising. But television has yet to be dethroned.
