Austin Symphony

I thoroughly enjoyed a Russian program recently performed by the Austin Symphony – Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 5 in D Minor and Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto in D Minor with guest soloist Barbara Nissman. Ms. Nissman provided a very spirited performance and added an encore by Argentinian composer Alberto Ginastera, whose work I was previously unfamiliar with.
